Financial Analyst | Portage, MI

Salary Range: $68,000 - $102,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed cost analysis of manufacturing operations, including COGS, labor, and overhead variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and performance dashboards for manufacturing sites.
• Analyze production variances and provide insights into cost drivers and efficiency improvements.
• Evaluate capital expenditure requests and conduct ROI/NPV analysis for new equipment or projects.
• Support month-end close activities by analyzing accruals and ensuring accurate cost allocation.
• Perform profitability analysis by product line and customer segment to inform strategic decisions.

Recommended Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience with cost accounting principles and analysis in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for data extraction and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain dynamics, and their financial impacts.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) in a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing cost accounting principles (e.g., standard costing, variance analysis).
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for financial reporting.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
